Prepping for your

trip

What to bring for the trip

Here’s a basic list of what you might want to bring on your vacation. You’ll undoubtedly have your own needs, but we thought this might be helpful, knowing what we do about the amenities in this home.

  • Personal toiletries – we provide soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, but depending on brand preference, you might want to bring your own.
  • Personal electronics chargers – we have outlets in each bedroom to plug in overnight, but please bring your own chargers.
  • Beach towels – bring your own, if you plan to go to any of the beaches around the area. We provide towels for pool and hot tub.
  • Cutter or Off – in the summer, you’ll find a mosquito or two as we’re on a wooded area and near a small running creek.
  • Light jacket for cool summer evenings – coat, hat, gloves for winter days and nights.
  • Info to login on smart TVs – all rooms have smart TVs, but you will need to bring your own logins.

Things you do not need to bring

We’ve attempted to ensure that our vacation home is appropriately stocked.

  • Bed linens – All of the beds are made with soft and fresh bed linens. No need to bring your own.
  • Towels and washcloths – All bathrooms are well-stocked with towels. We please ask that you use black towels to remove make-up.
  • Blowdryer – We have one in each bathroom.
  • Kitchen and cooking supplies – We provide quality cookware and kitchen tools, including knives, grill tools, baking tools and pans, Keurig, waffle maker, mixer, rice cooker, slow cooker and blender. If you’re preparing something special on vacation and need something, just ask, and it’s probably already here.
  • Coffee/tea – The pantry is stocked with an assortment of Keurig cups and a variety of teas.

planning

your arrival

Access code

We will provide you with an access digital key code the day before your arrival by 1pm. This will allow you to check yourself into the property via the front door.

Check-in

Check-in time starts at 4:00pm. Please do not arrive at the house until the scheduled check-in time as your door code will not work. It will also put stress on the cleaners and potentially delay your check-in time.

If you are arriving early, we suggest you explore some of the local restaurants in downtown South Haven or take a stroll around the art galleries or shops in Saugatuck.

Parking

Park on the driveway ONLY. The driveway can accommodate a MAXIMUM of four cars. The garage is for owner storage and is not available for parking. Please DO NOT park on the road as your car will be towed.

house rules

friendly reminder

We know you’re here to have a good time and we want you to feel right at home. Our ground rules are designed to keep everyone safe and help make Chillin Away a great place to stay.

We ask that guests are respectful of the neighborhood as violation of these rules will result in forfeiture of your deposit and request to leave with no refunds.

Parties

NO parties or events of any kind are permitted at the property. Property is equipped with noise monitors to comply with association rules and local ordinances.

Outdoor noise

Local Township ordinances strictly prohibit noise outdoors. Please NO music by the pool or fire-pit area, screaming outside the house or in the private road. Any disturbances may result in involvement from the local Sheriff’s department at the neighbors’ discretion.

Quiet time

Quiet hours are observed from 9pm-8 am. To comply with noise ordinances, and out of courtesy to neighbors, we ask that all outside socializing moves indoors by 9 pm.

Occupants

We can accommodate a maximum of 12 occupants, including visitors.

Septic

We are on septic which means it’s sensitive. Please only flush toilet paper. We also do not have garbage disposals so please no food or grease down drains.

Smoking

This is a smoke-free home, including the outside area surrounding the property—no smoking of any substance including vaping.

Pets

We love animals, but we chose to make this home pet-free due to many people (hosts included) being allergic. If you try to sneak in a pet, you will forfeit all deposits and will be asked to leave.

Breakages

We understand that sometimes accidents happen. Should you break anything, please let us know immediately so we can get the item replaced quickly – if it’s minor we usually won’t charge. If it’s a larger issue (e.g. TV screen), we would like to agree on the cost with you before you leave to avoid any issues later.

The service is provided for your enjoyment, but you are responsible for safe and appropriate use and complying with all laws. If there is any loss of service, please contact us.
